I am very disappointed, and considering filing a formal complaint of grievance, as this product has not arrived after one full month. If anyone is reading this you need to contact me right away.

As an old-time, old-version user of TurboCad, I looked forward to an upgrade. I was disappointed at installation on this one. Although stated syatem requirements on the product were not clear, I felt confident that my old PC (XP Pro, Pentium 4, 3.2Ghz, 1GB RAM, 195GB free space HD, SVGA 1680X1050 display) could handle it. There was a kink here that the buyer must be aware of!! This is DVD-ROM media and system requirements should (but don’t) include “DVD-Rom drive”, CD-ROM drive won’t do. When I received my package I was relieved to read system requirements on the box – I met all those listed. When I opened the package, I went to the User Guide,pg 1, “Systems Requirements”. That list was slightly different – it included “4X CD-Rom drive with 32 bit drivers” – OK, I still met requirements, I had a CD-ROM drive that met requirement. So I inserted the disk into the drive and waited. A blank stare from PC, so I did the Start/Save, D:setup.exe thing. A moment more of blank stare and then a pop-up – “please insert disk”. The disk WAS inserted! I guessed – this must be a DVD (not a CD). I then backtracked to the Amazon listing which did, in fact state, “Media: DVD-Rom”. Too late, I had just blown my return option and bought a useless product. For myself, “DUH”, for IMSI, “Shame on you”.

Using it for hobbies only, it has more features than I can keep track of. I’m still in the phase of “oh cool, it can do that”.

This software is awesome bang for the buck. It is a full featured 3D program that can do everything except advanced animation (character animation), but that’s not what the software was designed to do. For modeling structures and doing walkthrus, this software does the job excellently. The 2D drawing tools are robust and the 3D capabilities are far above what one would expect for the price.
To those who write negative reviews because they couldn’t understand the software, well, don’t listen to them. CAD and 3D are specialized skills. Of course it’s going to take time to READ THE MANUAL and burn some practical hours to better one’s skillset. There is no software out there that has a magic “make pretty” button.
The software is extremely capable. I’ve recommended this product to a few clients and even helped them train their employees using it. As long as you read the directions and have patience, you’ll be very pleased with this product and your results.
However, if you’re looking for something “easy”, perhaps you shouldn’t be looking into this caliber of software. It really is capable of truly professional results.
