    Pros:

It will hold a door open even if the door has a heavy swing arm.

    Cons:

It will not automatically catch the door, you have to hold the door against the Magnetic catch for a couple of seconds before it catches. So you can’t just swing the door open and expect it to automatically catch. The door just bonces off the magnetic catch if not held for a couple seconds.

I purchased this door stop for our laundry room, the door always likes to swing open while working in there and I was tired of messing with the rubber door stop. The package came in and it is a nice looking piece. Simple construction that should hold up well. I opened it up and against my better judgment attempted to follow the awful instructions and use the junk anchors provided in the package to mount to wall. A few minutes later with three large holes in my wall and the door stop pulled out. I installed instead pre-drilled the base board and installed it. Then the same with the door. A little spackling and the wall is patched and just need to touch up the paint. That said don’t use the crap anchors. Use some quality ones if you must install it to sheetrock. Otherwise install into the baseboard using the same size drill bit that it requires to pred-rill your door. Other than that it is very nice and works well. I would recommend.

I have a few doors that just won’t stay open. I could spend an awful lot of time fixing them, OR I could buy this great product. This product not only keeps the door open, but also does duty as a door stop. Works perfectly.

The reason I did not rate it 5 stars is that there were no instructions at all. It took me a little time to figure out how they were put together, and how to install them. Also, be prepared that the magnet is quite strong. You do need to make sure to use the anchors properly on drywall, or I think pulling the door might pull the screws out of the drywall.

    Highly recommended.
